Eye Geeks Doctors of Optometry is a female-owned independent optometry office founded in 2018. We’re all about building continuity in eye care, creating strong doctor-patient relationships, and allowing you to feel at home each time you come into the office.

OUR DOCTOR

Dr. Irene Diep was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has a passion for ensuring your optometry experience consists of the perfect mix of comprehensive personal care and technological innovation.

Dr. Irene Diep has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of vision and eye health, with a specific interest in Dry Eye and Keratoconus. Practicing as the only doctor in her private office, Dr Diep prides herself on providing the best continuity of care, through creating genuine relationships bound by trust and understanding.

From a young age, Dr Diep had a love for nature and science, which initially led her to pursue and complete a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a college student, she volunteered to conduct field research on whales and dolphins in the Santa Monica Bay. It was a volunteering position with The Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation Studies of Keratoconus (CLEK) Study at UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute that steered her path towards optometry. She became fascinated with the complexity of the eye, leading to a decision to dedicate her career to optometry.

Dr. Diep graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from The State University of New York (SUNY), College of Optometry in 2006. Throughout her studies she honed her knowledge at Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the SUNY’s affiliated Eye Clinic – one of the largest in the country.

Dr. Diep served patients in the Washington DC metro area for ten years prior to moving back to Los Angeles. Dr. Diep passionately brings her expertise and love of optometry to the Downtown Los Angeles community.
